Tree Surgery Applications

Crown Clean

This process is the removal of deadwood and crossing branches, or any branch that may cause a problem in the future, within the crown.

Crown Lift

This is the removal of the lowest branches up to a determined height, to allow for access under the canopy, for mowing the lawn, for example.

Crown Reduction

This operation is simply the process of making the crown of the tree smaller.  If a tree is getting too large for its setting, this may be the course of action to take.

Crown Thinning

This process is the removal of selected branches within the canopy to allow more light to penetrate through without disturbing the overall height and spread of the tree, or the aesthetics.

Tree Felling

This is complete removal of any given tree.  This can be done in various ways.  More often than not in an urban setting space and shading is an issue so the careful removal of a tree in sections is required.

Installation of a Bracing System

Bracing systems are used when it is deemed necessary to reduce the risk of potentially hazardous boughs or trunks failing on a tree, when the loss of the bough or trunk would be to the detriment of the tree.

Planting

Through my years in the industry, I keep hearing this mantra towards planting: "The best time to plant a tree is 10 years ago; the second best time to plant is today!"  I can't fault that saying, and furthermore I encourage to plant after removal and will help you make the right choice of species for the setting.

Pollarding a Tree

This pruning technique is used mainly for management of tree stock as on-going cyclical pruning.  Pollarding removes all the smaller branches and leaf producing  twigs.  This encourages a burst of straight regrowth from the old pruning wounds.  At every pruning interval the regrowth is removed (re-pollard).

Removal of Dead Wood

This operation ensures peace of mind for the tree owner.  With a duty of care, this reduces the risk of falling debris by taking a proactive approach to management.

Stump Grinding

This is the removal of a tree stump using a machine that literally grinds the stump into mulch.  Perfect for re-planting or just making use of that space lost to an old stump.

Hedge & Shrub Trimming/maintenance

Boundary & border plants are great for screening and all year round colour, but regular maintenance prevents them from getting out of hand and subsequently, your garden feeling small and gloomy.
